The UNWG raises all the charity funds through members’ activities and the Bazaar. The Annual International Charity Bazaar contributes the most to the fund. COVID 19 interrupted the years 2020-2022 and significantly depleted UNWG’s charity funds. The total grant of 2023 reflects the difficult situation worldwide due to the pandemic. After detailed review and evaluation, a list of 9 projects were submitted and approved by the UNWG General Membership. The total amount of these 9 projects is €60,326. The money was duly disbursed,

Help for Orphans in Cameroon: This is a comprehensive community-based rehabilitation project for war children in Bwitingi, Buea, Cameroon that will reduce morbidity and mortality of children thereby improving physical and mental health, as well as school attendance and good academic performance. The total cost of the project is €11,260 and will be implemented by Help for Orphans in Cameroon in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, as well as Belie Health Foundation and Mother Care Foundation. The UNWG funding will be used to provide equipment and furniture at the nutrition rehabilitation and education center to enhance theory and practical lessons for caregivers and other migrants. Total UNWG Grant: €5,840. Number of children being served: 91 boys and 163 girls (war orphans).
SAO BIEN - Room for Education: This project will build a new kindergarten in Khe Nap village, Bao Nam commune, Ky Son district, Nghe And province, one of the most remote villages in Vietnam. The village is mostly populated by the Kho Mu ethnic minority group who live on subsistence farming. The current school is in poor condition, which is a danger to the children during bad weather conditions. The new school will be built with sustainable materials and be designed particularly for children. The building will have a classroom and an outside protected area. Total UNWG grant: €6,700. Number of children being served: 23 boys and 27 girls, aged 3 to 5 years old.
"Astghavard" Disabled Children's Parents NGO: This project in Vardenis town, Gegharkunik region, Armenia, plans to equip and furnish a room in the building belonging to the NGO for rehabilitation, psychological support, logopedic services, and lessons for disabled children and children who have been displaced due to conflict. The grant will purchase furniture, floor mats, development games and therapy supplies. The project will allow the NGO to provide therapy that will help the children have a brighter future. Total UNWG grant: €5,964. Number of children being served: 23 boys, 32 girls and 30 women.
Fundación Ramón Vargas, A.C.: This project in the village of Santa María Quiegolani, Oaxaca will repair the girls’ dormitory at a school that caters to children with disabilities and those living in remote, rural locations with no access to a school. The current roof leaks and this has caused problems with the electrical fixtures. The grant will be used to replace the roof, rewire the dormitory with new plugs and light fixtures, and paint. This will allow a safe living space for the girls which will allow them to receive an education. Total UNWG grant: €9,387. Number of children being served: 35 girls and 12 women per year.
The UNWG Charity Review Committee 2020 is a team of 42 members who participate in many ways: evaluating projects, proofreading, research and translation. We received a total of 268 proposals, of which 95 had insufficient documentation or did not meet the necessary criteria. After detailed review and evaluation, a list of 19 projects were submitted and approved by the UNWG General Membership. The total amount of these 19 projects is €127,200. The money was duly disbursed, but there was no ceremony, as the pandemic prohibited large gathering.

LE MAILLON HUMANITAIRE BELGIQUE This organization of volunteers provides health support on site, free of charge, to disadvantaged areas, particularly the Congo and Morocco.The UNWG grant was used to improve the lighting in the hospital in Lubefu in the province of Sankuru. Palm oil and kerosene lamps were replaced with solar lights. Even though it is called a maternity hospital, it is the only hospital that serves several rural villages in the area where more than 40,000 children and women live. Total UNWG grant: €8,050. Children served as estimated in 10 years period: Boys 13,581, Girls 16,275, Women 13,203
The Ogoja Foundation at Divine Provence Home, Montoya, Ogoja, Cross River State. The organization’s mission is to improve the lives of orphaned children in Nigeria, living in poverty, through the provision of food and goods. Their focus has been on Colmcille Memorial Academy and Divine Providence Home for orphans and abandoned vulnerable children. UNWG grant provides replace frames (total 60 beds), 60 mattresses and 10 bed infant cribs that are in bad shape. UNWG grant: $6,013.79 or €5,523.53 approx. Service is provided to: Boys 22, Girls 29.
Rescue Mission from Street Life. This Project renovated and equipped “Covenant Youth Home” for the “Rescued Street Children Project” in Kampala, Lungujja Parish, Lubaga Division. This is an approved home for children rescued by police, social workers, hospitals, local authorities, and probation, social, and welfare officers. Covenant Youth Home provides a sanctuary for kids who have nowhere else to go and offers them the protection and tools in rehabilitation and reintegration programs. The grant enabled renovation of the roof, direct water to storage tanks as well as water for an urban fish farm and irrigated kitchen garden. The house would be repainted, the doors and windows repaired, as well as the ventilators. Classroom Furniture and Educational/Vocational Equipment for A Child for All’s new Zorokoro Children’s Complex School in Mali. A Child for All (ACFA)’s mission is to provide Mali’s vulnerable children a safe and loving environment, which fosters their health, learning, happiness and success. ACFA brings hope to vulnerable children in Mali who previously lived on the streets, exposed to hunger, trafficking and/or drugs. This organization is unique in that they have people all over the world who commit to paying for orphans and forgotten children. The guild will provide funding to equipment for a kindergarten school classroom that is in the process of being built in a school for orphaned and forgotten children. Kyrgyzstan: Renovate kindergarten for disabled children
SOS Hermann Gmeiner Complex Bishkek Helping to Refurbish Building for disabled Kindergarden Children. This is a kindergarten for disabled children in Bishkek. The Sisaengtham School is located in Huey Yang Sub District Khong Chaim District Ubon Ratchathani Thailand, at the remote charity secondary school in the most eastern point of Thailand adjacent to the border to Laos. The UNWG contributed to the replacement of a water filtration and purification system to replace an older system that was worn.

Georgia: Young Men’s Christian Association of Telavi is open to all, regardless of religion, to take part in its programs. A sport training center, including a swimming pool, has been built next to the main building. UNWG grant for partial project: €6,299. Children being served: Boys 110, girls 92.
Te Women's Development "Resource Center" Foundation (WDRC) in partnership with "Shirak Regional Development Foundation provide a vocational program with instructions in sewing, carpet making and felting/handicraft. The UNWG grant of €4,000 provides partially for classroom equipment and material. Children served: Boys 5, girls 40.
Fundacion Para el Desarrollo Integral FUDI Foundation for Integral Development Acondicionamiento de espacio para atención médica y nutricional comunitaria. Conditioning of Space for Community Medical and Nutritional Care in Alden Joys Grande, Zaragoza, Chimaltenango, Guatemala. The project provides Medical measuring tools like weigh scales, stethoscopes, reflex hammer, thermometers for general health checks and basic didactic toys such as puzzles, blocks, puppets, therapy balls for small children. The checkups are carried out in the community clinic that provides healthcare, focusing on chronic malnutrition. Instead of borrowing basic equipment from a central clinic, this project provides basic equipment needed for the outreach clinic.Cost of project $3,548 (approx. €3,262.53): Service to: Boys 98, Girls 83, Mothers 149.
FONDACION PARA EL APOYO SOCIAL EMPRESARIAL (FASE) This is a private non-profit organization, that aims to improve the living conditions of vulnerable communities in Potrero Grande, Cali. It is meant to promote an integral and sustainable growth of communities that are characterized by their extreme levels of poverty, violence, and malnutrition. The organization provides educational materials for freetime and for reinforcement of academic programs for out-of-school children. The UNWG grant was used to purchase musical instruments and teaching materials for 90 children of extreme poverty. The project aims to involve the children in activities that stimulate self-confidence and encourage them to join other educational activities that will enhance their knowledge for life.
